Safety aspects

06:16 When will our cars get head-up displays? Ideal for continental driving . . .

Happy Easter

22:09 Heretics Anonymous. Tania and I were having a little chat about the Bible an' stuff, as you do, and I decided this was a good excuse to do a bit of entrail-splurging.

"it saved my life!"

12:06 I'm going to have to think carefully about my position on cycle helmets. The evidence says 'no', and to be honest, I'm fed up with lugging it around. If we move to Oz, this will also be the last summer I get chance to let my hair flow freely . . .

Shiny things

13:52 I have a soft spot for aviation art. While trawling Old Glory I came across Gerald Coulson and such beauties as 'Off Duty - Lancaster at Rest'. Nice. And 'Evening Patrol' is particularly wondersome. Yes please, I have a birthday coming up. Mine, even.

I was just doing my job

08:52 Bloody well done. Oh, man, this guy is a real hero:

He was asked what was going through his mind at the time. "An RPG", Pte Beharry promptly replied.

Best wishes to Johnson Beharry and his wife Lynthia.

A mugging on memory lane

11:12 There's a girl in the lab down the corridor goes by the name Jasmeen. So yesterday I was telling her how Jasmine was a little blue and white rabbit with a friend called Teddy Edward; I also have a stuffed Jasmine at home. Jasmeen is far too young to remember such things and was disappointingly incredulous, but a moment's furtling on the intarweb was gratifying. Aaahhh . . .

Achtung Spitfire!

16:55 Mr Clemens had me pissing myself with laughter at his tirade against the German language. That site is pretty interesting - it also links to a whole heap of Jane Austen online. Hmm . . . <prods Palm>.

Two weeks . . .

16:50 . . . I'd rather forget. Rather ironic after my anti-SUV posting, but you know what? My opinion is reinforced after the accident. That little 214 did exactly what she was supposed to. If we'd been in a SUV, either I wouldn't be here to write this, or the other guy would be dead.
